Hello!

My name is Anyah Jackson and I am a fine art photographer – recent alumni from the Savannah College of Art and Design. My photographs uncover an accumulation of the depths of my connection and visual responses to culture, race, family and identity.

I believe that every story deserves to be told.  I want to be able to build connections with my audience.  Through the navigation of portraiture, I hope to be able to connect the elegance of photography and poetry. Intertwining these avenues bridge the gap between visual and narrative storytelling. With the use of digital and film photographs, I utilize professional techniques of developing each story behind the lens to appear elegantly in front of my audience.

Being raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I found that being a minority in a city surrounded with violence and little opportunity to see success presented in front of me was a huge challenge. I continue to grow and find my love to uplift minorities through art and yearn to create work that focuses on representation, identifying as a black woman in America.

By grace and through faith alone, I thank God for where He has led and continues to lead me. I pray that the gifts He has given me will speak through my photographs and that my love for Him is evident.
